Saúl Zalimben is a university educator and computer science professional with teaching experience across core areas of computing, including Algorithms and Data Structures, Computer Science, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Parallel Computing, and Compilers. His teaching approach emphasizes the connection between theoretical foundations and practical problem solving, incorporating programming exercises, laboratory activities, software projects, and computational analysis. He is particularly interested in helping students understand not only how computational techniques work, but also the principles and design decisions underlying them.

His research background spans computer science, cloud computing, optimization, software engineering, and game theory. His earlier research focused on virtual-machine placement and resource allocation in cloud-computing datacenters under uncertainty, including work recognized with Paraguay’s National Science Award. His current academic research extends into game theory and political economy, with particular emphasis on bargaining, electoral competition, and electoral accountability. This work examines how strategic incentives and electoral pressures influence bargaining behavior and political outcomes.

Alongside teaching and research, his academic interests include the systematic development and communication of technical knowledge. He has produced educational material on algorithms, data structures, software engineering, Scrum, Git, and software architecture, and continues to develop structured academic resources for computer science education. His work combines research, software-engineering experience, and university teaching, with an emphasis on rigorous conceptual foundations, practical application, and the clear communication of complex technical and mathematical ideas.
